PATIENT SERVICES
Palliative Care

Palliative Care
Palliative care is available to people at any stage of an illness and can be provided alongside curative treatments. Often involving a team of doctors, nurses, social workers and pharmacists who collaborate to support both the patient and their family.
As a palliative care provider, we maintain stock of standard palliative care medicines, and prioritise palliative prescriptions. Our pharmacists provide support for both patients and families at this sensitive time and are here to answer any questions you may have regarding out services.
The Goals of Palliative Care
The overall goals we aim to achieve when providing palliative care are,
- Managing pain and discomfort
- Alleviating other symptoms (e.g., nausea, fatigue, breathlessness)
- Providing emotional and psychological support
- Assisting with decision-making around care options
- Supporting family members in coping with the challenges of caregiving
