M&D Green are proud to be at the heart of our local community, which is why we're extremely excited to reveal our new ongoing partnership with BHF Scotland.
Did you know that there are around 3,200 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCAs) in Scotland each year? The survival rate in Scotland is just 1 in 10. Every minute without cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation reduces the chance of survival by up to 10 per cent. That’s why we’ve committed to making public access defibrillators available in our branches across Scotland.
Around 700,00 people are living with heart and circulatory diseases in Scotland and they cause the deaths of nearly 50 people here each day. Today is World Heart Day and we'd like to raise awareness of the work BHF are doing and the importance of community defibrillators and learning CPR.
The last year has been one of the most challenging in the BHF’s long history and funding for 2020/2021 had to be cut in half because of the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the next 12 months, each of our branches will be hosting fundraising events to help us raise £25,000 for BHF.
