About Us

The M & D Green group, started in 1996 by Martin Green, comprises branches throughout Glasgow and the west. The pharmacy holds a well established place in the heart of the community and has recently underwent huge redevelopment, making it a first class healthcare facility, allowing M & D Green and its pharmacists in Fore street to be at the cutting edge of healthcare.

Situated in Port Glasgow, Fore street pharmacy offers a patient driven service by experienced and friendly staff. We offer a full range of services in the pharmacy, including NHS and private prescriptions, smoking cessation, emergency hormonal contraception, the chronic medication service and public health promotion and advice. We also provide medicines management, synchronising medication and utilising compliance aids for those who struggle to remember to take their medication.

The pharmacy is also at the forefront of the extended minor ailments pilot running within the Inverclyde area. We were the chosen site to host Chief Pharmaceutical Officer Rose Marie Parr and her team when she visited Inverclyde to review the service and launch the ‘Achieving Excellence in Pharmaceutical Care’ document in August, 2017.
In addition to these services we offer a repeat prescription ordering service, daily collection from a wide range of local surgeries and a free delivery service. We currently work closely with and collect from all GP surgeries in Inverclyde, especially surgeries situated within Port Glasgow Health Centre.
Completed prescriptions can then be collected from the pharmacy or delivered direct to your door, free of charge by our dependable drivers. We offer delivery to addresses in Port Glasgow, Greenock, Kilmacolm and Langbank. The whole process should take no more than two to three working days.
Alternatively, if you would like to visit the pharmacy in person to access any of our services, we are easily accessible. Situated on Fore Street, we have ample car parking just across the road on Bay Street (the car park of Port Glasgow Health Centre). We are also situated just 500 yards from Port Glasgow bus station, which is serviced by McGill’s buses 530, 531, 532, 533, 901, 906, 907, X7 and X22. We are also only a 5 minute walk away from Port Glasgow train station.
